The Washington Demon softball team’s conference schedule saw eight double-headers; they won 10 of the 16 games.  Six of those 10 wins came behind the pitching of Alexa Mitchell.

Mitchell started eight of the 16 conference games, with Molly Sparks starting the other eight.  Both pitchers were solid through conference play, but Mitchell was especially dominant.

She came in second among Southeast Conference pitchers in overall record (6-2) and ERA (2.71) throughout league play; she was one of two pitchers in the conference with an ERA under three.  Her strikeout-to-walk ratio was also the best in the conference, punching out 27 and walking only four.

Mitchell will be back next year for her junior season.
