After agreeing to a $6 million contract with RACOM Corporation of Marshalltown for new communications equipment, the Washington County Board of Supervisors will review the financing plan for the project at their next meeting.

The agreement is for system hardware, installation of radios in vehicles, portable radios, pagers and a 10-year maintenance agreement. A key aspect of funding that will be discussed is General Obligation Bond Financing. Per the contract the first payment to RACOM is scheduled for September 15th. The board will also discuss a contract with Neumann Monson Architects for a new communications building. The Washington County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the basement of the Washington County Courthouse.
