The Mid-Prairie School District is holding a special election this August.

A petition was presented to the district to request a special election to fill the vacant school board seat left by George Schaefer, who resigned June 25th. The school board appointed Emily Uhl to fill that seat at their meeting Monday, and the deadline to file a petition was Thursday. Mid-Prairie Business Manager Jeff Swartzentruber says the election will be held Tuesday, August 28th, and the candidate filing deadline is Friday August 3rd. Schaefer’s term was set to expire in 2019.
