The eighth-ranked Sigourney Savage softball team saw their season come to an end on Friday night, losing at home to New London by a 2-0 score.

Madi Schauf’s 2-3 night at the plate wasn’t enough to light a spark for the Savage offense, as those two hits were two of the three total as a team.  Autum Barthelman legged out a triple for the team’s other hit, but she could not be driven in.

Jordan VanEe took the loss in Friday’s pitchers’ duel, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits while walking four and striking out five.

The Savages end their season at 21-7.  They graduate three seniors in Autum Barthelman, Leah Carter and Madi Schauf, and retain the remaining 15 for next season.
