A pedestrian was struck by a car in downtown Kalona Thursday.

According to the Washington County Communications Center at about 10:55 a.m. a woman was walking across the street at 419 B Avenue and was hit by a car, which then left the scene. Kalona QRS responded and saw that the woman appeared to have no injuries and was transported by private vehicle. The driver, Robert Clemence Levers of Kalona was located at the post office and was cited for driving under suspension and leaving the scene of an accident.
