The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team scored a slugfest win Wednesday in Wellman, taking down visiting Camanche 15-14.

The Indians put up six runs in their first at bat to jump out to a big lead, only to see Mid-Prairie counter with a four spot in the bottom half. Camanche went up 8-4 with two more in the second and the Hawks took their first lead with a six spot in the bottom half to go up 10-8 after two. In the third it was Camanche’s turn with four more runs to go on top 12-10. The Golden Hawks countered with two in the bottom half to tie the game at 12 each. From there, Mid-Prairie scored single runs in each of the last three innings, including a Rex Peck walk off hit to give the Golden Hawks the win. Jacob Leonard drove in four in the Mid-Prairie win. With the win Mid-Prairie is now 9-11 on the year, they host Albia in a doubleheader Friday.
