The Lone Tree baseball and softball teams scored a pair of Superconference crossover wins Wednesday against the visiting Danville Bears.

The Lone Tree boys handled Danville 13-3 in five innings. The Lions jumped out with four runs in the first, Danville got a pair in the second to get within 4-2 but Lone Tree answered with a six spot in the bottom of the second and ran away with the win from there. Tim Mills had a big day at the plate going two for three with four RBI, Keegan Edwards was two for three and drove in three. Dakota Smith got the win on the mound going all five innings, allowing three runs, two hits, walking five and striking out six. The Lone Tree boys are now 6-8 on the season.

The Lone Tree girls also posted a win over Danville by a 9-7 score. The Bears led 2-0 after two and a half but Lone Tree responded with four runs in the bottom of the third to take their first lead of the night. The Lady Lions would grow the lead to 6-2 before Danville climbed back within 6-5. Lone Tree came back with three more to make it 9-5 before Danville scored a pair in the seventh but Lone Tree was able to close the door for the win. Abby Buckman was terrific at the plate, going two for four with four RBI and three runs scored. Kinsley Hayes got the win, going six and two thirds innings, allowing 12 hits, seven runs, walking four and striking out five. With the win Lone Tree is now 8-5. Both the Lone Tree boys and girls travel to Cardinal of Eldon tonight.
