The Iowa Mennonite baseball team rallied late to score their first win of the season Monday 4-3 over Wapello in Kalona.

The Indians got on the board with a single run in the first and two more in the third against IMS starter Blake Bontrager. Iowa Mennonite scattered five hits before the seventh but still trailed 3-0 going into their final at bat. In the last inning, IMS sent seven batters to the plate against reliever Trenton Massner who did not record an out as IMS scored four times to grab the win. Bontrager had the game winning hit, driving in Eli Ours.

Bontrager went the distance on the hill, giving up three runs, five hits and striking out six. Cole Ours added three hits. The win is the first of the year for IMS as they improve to 1-2 on the season, Wapello is now 4-6. IMS travels to Winfield-Mt. Union Tuesday.
