A bank in Packwood was robbed Friday.

According to the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, at 1:13 p.m. June 1st, the Pilot Grove Savings Bank in Packwood called the Jefferson County Law Enforcement Center due to a robbery. The robber was described as a tall and slender white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He then fled the bank and went east on foot. The incident is under investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations. The Fairfield Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, and Wapello and Keokuk County Sheriff’s Offices assisted.
