The Columbus Wildcat softball team played three games Saturday in the Falcon Tournament at Louisa-Muscatine.

The Wildcats lost a shoot out in game one 12-11 to West Burlington. Columbus scored twice in their first at bat, only to see the Falcons score seven to go up 7-2 after one. The Wildcats weren’t done, scoring six of their own in the second to wrestle the lead back at 8-7. The Falcons scored once in the bottom of the second to tie the game at eight. Each team put up three runs in the fourth and the with the game tied at 11 in the sixth, the Falcons scratched across the winning run. Emma Milder, Bridgett Smith, and Michelle Diaz led Columbus at the plate, each with a pair of RBI. Anna Hamilton took the loss going six innings, giving up 10 hits, 12 runs, walking a pair and striking out four.

Wilton beat the Wildcats in game two 21-4. Columbus had an early lead, scoring twice in the top of the first, but the Beavers posted nine in the bottom half to take a lead they wouldn’t give up the rest of the contest. Hamilton led the Wildcats at the plate with two RBI. Kayla Beenen took the loss in the circle going a third of an inning, allowing three hits, nine runs and walking three.

In game three West Liberty shut out Columbus 15-0 in three innings. Emma Milder and Libby White had the lone hits for Columbus. White took the loss in the circle for the Wildcats, going two and a third innings, allowing five hits, nine runs, walking three and striking out one. The Wildcats are now 1-5 on the year, they travel to Pekin Tuesday.
