Possible parking revisions were discussed at a recent meeting of the Washington City Council.

Two areas concerning sight distance were the intersections of C and Monroe, and South Iowa and Tyler. The council also discussed traffic flow and parking on both sides of the street on South B, South C, North Iowa, and North Marion. City Administrator Brent Hinson shared some advice, “I encourage you to proceed with caution and due diligence, because, like Fran [Stigers] said, and I don’t care where you’re at people don’t like change. For every person who is complaining about how it is now, there will be people that complain about the way we change it to, so you should have good justification, and research, and thought put into any changes.” No formal action was taken and the council agreed to gather more information by observing those areas and speaking with residents before further discussion at a future meeting.
