The No. 13 ranked Iowa Mennonite School boys basketball team travels to Oskaloosa tonight for the class 1A substate final against No. 4 Lynnville-Sully.

IMS enters play with a 21-3 overall record, looking for their first state tournament berth since 2012. IMS advanced to this round of the playoffs with a 61-54 win over No. 11 New London on Thursday night behind 20 points from Mitchell Schmeider. On the season, IMS is led by Schmeider and Cole Ours, each scoring 13 points per game. Schmeider also leads the team with 156 rebounds, eighth in the North. Caleb Gingerich has the team lead with 70 assists, ninth in the Superconference North.

No. 4 Lynnville-Sully enters play with a 20-3 overall record on the year after advancing through No. 14 Montezuma for the District 10 title on Friday 58-45. The Hawks are the undefeated champions of the South Iowa Cedar League West Division. On the season they are led by Jesse Van Wyk scoring 15 points per game, third best in the West. He also leads the team with 190 boards, second best in the West Division. Tyler Vander Linden is best on the team and fourth in the West with 80 assists. The Hawks are looking to make it back-to-back trips to Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines for state.
