The Keota boys’ basketball team will look to keep their season alive tonight when they travel to Montezuma to face the Braves in the class 1A district semifinal game.

Keota (15-6) qualified for the event after an 80-53 thrashing of Tri-County on Thursday. The Eagles are out for revenge against the Braves falling in their only meeting of the year 74-44 back in December. Keota shot just 4 of 21 from behind the arc in that one and could not contain Trey Shearer and Hunter Ray, as they combined for 51 points. The Eagles will need to have their big horses show up tonight led by JD Stout with 24 points a game. Hunter Wilson cashes in on 12 points per contest and shoots 33% from threes.

Shearer and Ray is a two-headed monster for the Braves (18-3) combining for 16 and 12 points per game, respectively. Montezuma gets it done on both ends of the floor, scoring 63 points per game and only gives up a conference best 39 points a contest.

The action gets started at 8 p.m. tonight at Montezuma High School.
