Washington County’s unemployment rate increased slightly from November to December.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Washington County’s rate went from 2.1% to 2.4%. Area counties that also saw increases include Henry, Iowa, Keokuk, and Louisa Counties. The highest rate of unemployment in Iowa in December was 5.5% in Dickinson County in northwest Iowa. The lowest unemployment rate was 1.5% in Story County.
