The Mid-Prairie School District completed their $10.6 million bond-funded project last spring that put additions onto the middle school, high school, and elementary schools, and constructed the central office and Alternative Learning Center. Now they’re looking towards the next improvement for the district.

Mid-Prairie is seeking funds for a high school auditorium. Superintendent Mark Schneider says they received a $1 million donation from Doug and Ann Goschke for an auditorium, “Right now we are kind of gearing up for a donation program and give opportunities for others to donate. And at some point in time we’ll get very serious about this project and come up with more definite plans about when, and where, and how it will be funded and constructed.”

Schneider says private donations are the first priority followed by grants and possibly another bond issue. A freewill offering was recently taken at the schools’ winter concerts for an auditorium, which is expected to be built east of the high school.
