Southeast Iowa made an appearance in the class 1A girls cross country race at state in Fort Dodge on Saturday when Winfield-Mt. Union’s Pearl Krieger-Coble and Highland’s Taylor Sublette participated.

Krieger-Coble finished off her senior campaign with a top 30 finish out of 143 runners placing 30th with a time of 20:43. Emily Stahl of Springville won the event with a time of 18:36. Krieger-Coble improved by 27 seconds from her district run earlier this month when she placed seventh to punch her ticket to state.

Sublette placed 103rd in the same race with a time of 22:29. She recorded the 21st fastest time out of all freshmen participating. Sublette qualified for the event after placing 12th in Solon at the district meet.
