The Washington boys’ cross country team was represented at the state cross country meet for the first time this century when Brennan Horak participated Saturday at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.

For being the first boys’ runner since 1999, the senior put together a solid showing placing 95th in the class 3A race out of 129 runners with a time of 17:45. Myles Bach from Center Point-Urbana took home the individual title with 15:49. Horak qualified for the event after placing 14th at the district meet in Pella.
