After qualifying for the State cross country meet earlier this month, Iowa Mennonite School’s Levi Geyer stated his goals were to break 17 minutes and make the top 20 in Fort Dodge.

Geyer checked both of those boxes with his performance at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge Saturday. Geyer finished 15th overall, with a time of 16:45, earning him a spot in the class 1A medal ceremony following the race.

Geyer is the first medal winner for IMS at the meet since 2009 when Iowa Mennonite captured the team state title lead by medalists Bill Spencer and Truman Shetler.
