The Sigourney-Keota football team ran into a buzz saw Friday night when they matched up with Pella Christian in the first round of the class 1A playoffs and the Eagles came out with a 53-21 win.

The Eagles’ Noah Treimer showed why he is a 1,000 yard rusher, as he put together a career day with 301 yards from scrimmage and racked up five touchdowns. Four of those came in the first half along with scores from Kyle Fynarrdt and Hayden Vroom to take a comfortable 46-0 halftime lead. Treimer capped off his night with a 79 yard score to open up the half. Down 53-0, the Cobras continued to fight and managed scores from Luke Greiner and Carson Crawford but it was not enough as Pella Christian managed the 53-21 victory.

With the win Pella Christian (10-0) moves on to the quarterfinal round where they will host Pleasantville (8-2). Sigourney-Keota finishes their season at 5-5 and loses nine seniors to graduation.
