The HLV Warriors got the revenge they were looking for Friday night, hosting Lone Tree, they paid the Lions back for a week three loss by eliminating them from the 8-man playoffs 59-22.

In a game heard on AM and FM KCII. HLV struck first with Brandon Schafbuch racing in from 25 yards out on fourth and nine for the touchdown to make it 6-0 HLV. He would double the Warrior lead just two minutes later on a three yard scoring run. Lone Tree got on the board when Bryce Houser took the handoff on the next play from scrimmage and raced 47 yards to paydirt to get the Lions within 12-6. It was Schafbuch again with the answer on the ensuing drive he capped a 6 play 55 yard Warrior march with a three yard touchdown run to make it 18-6.

A Lone Tree fumble on their next drive, one of six giveaways on the night, led to another Warrior scoring drive with a 30 yard Schafbuch touchdown run making it 26-6 HLV. On the very next drive, the Lions again put the ball and the turf, HLV recovered and used the same formula with Schafbuch putting it in the end zone to extend the lead to 32-6. The Lions answer was Bryce Houser again, he took the ensuing kickoff 79 yards to house to pull Lone Tree within 32-14. HLV got one more score before the break to send the game to the locker room at 38-14.

Lone Tree showed life in third quarter as Aaron Slaughter plunged in from three yards out, the Harmon Miller two point conversion made it 38-22 HLV. The Lion defense held, giving the offense the ball down just two scores but turnovers would cost the Lions on back to back possessions and HLV cashed in for insurance touchdowns on their final three drives to put the game out of reach.

Lone Tree was led on the night by Bryce Houser with a pair of touchdowns on the ground, Aaron Slaughter added a score for the Lone Tree ground game. Brandon Schafbuch led HLV with seven touchdowns on the night. With the win HLV is now 9-2 on the year, they will be in the state quarterfinals next week when they travel to No. 1 Don Bosco. Lone Tree ends their season at 8-3.
