The Demon (3-0) football team will seek revenge tonight as they look to knock off No. 1 Solon (3-0) on the road.

Last year when these teams played Solon got the best of the Demons winning 36-15. Washington will look to right the ship this go around with sophomore quarterback Luke Turner at the helm. With the injury to three-year starter Ryan Reighard, Turner has been forced into action and has fit right into the up-tempo attack. In last week’s 16-14 win over Mount Pleasant, Turner rushed for 124 yards on 23 carries. The level of trust the coaches have in the young sophomore was expressed in the final drive. With the Demons up two and needing one first down to seal the win, it was Turner that was relied on to secure the football and to pick up the biggest first down of the game. The Demons will need more of that production tonight when they face off with a Spartan defense that has given up just one touchdown in three games.

Adam Bock leads that stout Spartan defense with 15 tackles and one interception. The offense knows how to put up points as well averaging over 30 per game. Cam Miller leads the  offense under center completing 25 of his 45 pass attempts for 498 yards and six touchdowns. AJ Coons is his leading receiver with five receptions for 157 yards. The Demon secondary has been opportunistic in the early part of the season and that will have to continue to slow down the passing attack of the Spartans. Last week both Thomas Zimmer and Jacob Hall had timely interceptions for Washington.

The battle to stay unbeaten gets started at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Solon High School. Tune into KCII starting at 7 p.m. for the Washington HyVee pregame show.
