The Sigourney (0-3) volleyball team will search for their first win of 2017 tonight when they travel to rival Pekin (3-1).

The Savages will look for revenge on the Panthers after falling in both sets against them last week at the WACO tournament. The Savages were on the short end of 22-20 and 21-19 decisions. On the young season, Brooke Waechter is leading the team offensively with 15 kills, including 2.5 per set. Leah Carter has racked up 16 assists, and Sydney Striegel has been solid defensively with 12 digs.

Pekin is off to a fast start on the year and Maci Campbell is leading the charge with 29 kills. Whitney Johnson has been a key defender with 21 digs. The Panthers went 12-18 in 2016 and brought back all but two starters.

The action gets started at 5:30 p.m. tonight at Pekin High School.
