The Washington Demon boys soccer team bounced back from a tough loss in conference this week and took their frustrations out on Mediapolis Thursday winning 8-2.

The Demons grabbed momentum with five first half goals. Matteo Hernandez scored twice in the half, Abdullah Talal, Logan Escher and Caleb Suchan each found the back of the net once, and the Demons took their 5-0 advantage into the break. In the second half Washington, didn’t let up, getting a second goal from Suchan right after the half. Mediapolis got on the board in the 52nd minute to pull within 6-1, but the Bulldogs would get no closer as Washington’s Levi Rohr and Brandon Stephanie each tallied to secure the win. Thomas Zimmer had six saves in goal for Washington. The Demons are now back to .500 on the year at 4-4, they will next be in action Thursday when they travel to Keokuk.
