The Sigourney girls’ golf team will travel to Iowa Valley today for a conference showdown.

Bragging rights in the South Iowa Cedar League are on the line as two of the top three teams are in action. The Sigourney girls come into the day with a team average of 230.5 strokes per nine holes, third in the 12-team conference. The Savages are led by senior Kendall Streigle, who is averaging 50.5 strokes and has shot a team best round of 48. Sydney Streigle is not far behind averaging a 52, and rounding out the top four is Sam Bird and Lindsey Wheeldon with 64.

The Tigers stand atop the rankings in the conference with a season average of 207.5 strokes through six contests. Leading the charge for Iowa Valley is Caleigh Smith with a season average of 45.8 and best round of 41. The other top four competing for the Tigers include Kyla Gehring averaging 52, Brooke Davis with 53, and Taylor Smith with 55.

The conference clash gets started at 4 p.m. today at Iowa Valley Community High School.
