The Columbus Community and Highland boys’ soccer teams face off tonight in Columbus for the Southeast Iowa Superconference showdown.

After a tough start to the season, Columbus is starting to find their groove having won four of their last five contests to push their record to 4-3. The Wildcats know how to win close games coming off of a thrilling 3-2 victory over Holy Trinity on Tuesday, marking the third time this season they won by such margin. The defensive minded Wildcats have only given up 1.4 goals per game, ranking second in the conference. Leading the charge offensively is Eric Cantarero who has posted four goals on the season and 36 shots on goal.

Highland (0-9) seeks their first win of the season and looks to build off their 2-1 narrow defeat  at the hands of Central Lee on Tuesday. Caleb Brase who has grabbed three goals on the season and seven shots being on goal leads the Huskies. Goalie Tyler Striegel has a conference best 96 saves on the season with a save percentage of 67.

The conference matchup gets started at 5 p.m. at Columbus Community High School.
