Mattresses, furniture, carpet and other items are out on the curbs in Washington this week as part of the city’s annual spring clean up. Items will be collected on your regular garbage day route. Loose items must be in a cardboard box and there’s a 100-pound limit for carpet or construction materials. Appliances and televisions require a $20 sticker for disposal. Furniture requires a $6 sticker. The necessary stickers can be purchased at City Hall. Paint, tires, batteries, concrete, bricks and waste oil will not be picked up.
