Polls will open and votes will be cast in the general election on November 8th, although many Washington County residents have already voted. Sue Meeks, elections administrator for Washington County, says 1,010 people have voted early in person at the auditor’s office. Also, 2,382 area residents have requested ballots by mail, plus 43 military or overseas civilians.

Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer says many people vote early for different reasons, from being out of town on Election Day to wanting to avoid lines at their polling place.

To vote early, residents can go to the auditor’s office and vote in person, or you may request a ballot be mailed to you, which you then fill out and mail back in to the auditor’s office. Election Day is November 8th, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., listen to KCII that evening for live results from the Washington County Courthouse.
