Levi Geyer of the Iowa Mennonite School is preparing to run at the 2016 Iowa High School Class 1A State Cross Country Meet Saturday in Fort Dodge.

Geyer is the first Iowa Mennonite School runner to qualify for the event since 2014 when Renee Buckwalter, Riley Schmeider and Kirby Shetler all advanced to state. Geyer punched his ticket to Fort Dodge with a 13th place finish at the class 1A qualifier meet at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids. He finished with an overall time of 17:17.
