Updating board goals and superintendent goals for the upcoming school year were discussed at Wednesday’s Washington School Board meeting. The board approved four areas of focus for the 2016-2017 school year, which include student achievement, culture, student engagement and facilities. With student engagement, the board would like to see a survey developed to ask students for their opinion on school and activities.

The superintendent’s goals will officially be considered at the September meeting and will look to monitor students’ progress and achievement, continue to overlook facilities and consider a long-range plan, and create an enriching learning environment for students and staff. The next meeting will be held September 14th at 7 p.m. at central office.
