When the Washington County Conservation Board met, one of the items on the agenda was the creation of a new ranger position. The board approved the creation of a ranger technician position, and the official posting of the job is imminent. Conservation Director Steve Anderson said the position was budgeted and approved by both the Conservation Board and Board of Supervisors. Marr Park has a need for the position as there are more people utilizing the park and the systems of the park are having difficulty keeping up with the demand. The Conservation Board will start taking applications for the position as early as next week, and Anderson hopes to have a decision made and the position filled by the beginning of August.
