A recent graduate of Sigourney Community Schools has earn a weekly award from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). Marshalltown Community College freshman Jordan Carter earned the ICCAC Pitcher of the Week award for the Week of March 14.

Carter, a 2015 Sigourney graduate, posted a 3-0 record for the Tigers’ softball team during the week. She threw a complete game shutout in a 4-0 victory Triton College on March 15, fanning a career-best seven batters. On the season, Carter has a 5-0 record, ranking third in the conference with a 2.58 earned run average in 40.2 innings pitched. The Tigers currently hold a 13-4 overall record on the diamond.

Carter also played on the Tigers’ volleyball team this fall. She was named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Sept 9, posting 29 total kills and also recorded 52 digs in setbacks to Kirkwood Community College, Iowa Lakes Community College, and Grinnell College to begin the season. In her inaugural collegiate season, Carter was named to the National Junior College Athletic Associations’s All-Region XI first team in her inaugural collegiate season.
