Spring fashion week is coming to Washington starting Monday with sneak peeks online. Main Street Washington is organizing the event which features downtown businesses with wares for your person and your home. Director of Main Street Washington Sarah Sadrakula explains many local business owners travel during the winter to markets and then display their new merchandise in March.

She adds shopping local helps the community as a whole because for every dollar spent locally about 72 cents stays locally, but going elsewhere only about 40 cents stays in the community.

There will be a style show March 19th at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Cafe Dodici featuring a brunch and clothing, shoes, housewares and more. Tickets for the style show can be purchased for $15 and are available at Main Street Washington. The week after the style show downtown stores will have specials.
