Iowa Governor Terry Branstad will visit Columbus High School on Wednesday. Branstad will take a tour of the school and speak with students and staff in an assembly. Columbus Superintendent Gary Benda says Branstad will speak in the auditorium around 10:30 a.m. He will discuss his plan to use funds from a one cent sales tax earmarked for schools. The plan calls for some of the funds from the tax to be put towards water quality programs through 2049. Benda added the visit is open to the public.
