The Demon wrestling team ended their season at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, competing in their first ever state dual tournament. The squad won numerous weekend and postseason tournaments during the year, including the Class 2A Regional Duals, the Class 2A Section 7 tournament, the Gary Curtis Invitational, the East Marshall Duals, the Cascade Duals, the Dike New Hartford Duals, the Mediapolis tournament, and the Iowa Classic tournament.

In addition, four members of the wrestling team represented Washington in the 2016 Iowa High School Individual State Wrestling Tournament. Junior Trey Van Weelden took the seventh place medal in the Class 2A 152 pound bracket. Junior Andrew Waite (126), junior Austin Hazelett (138), and freshman Tristan Westphal-Edwards (160) also qualified for the state tournament.

The Demons lose Michael Ellingson (145), Bryce Rickey (170) and Oscar German (220) to graduation.
