This week is National FFA Week and the 55 members of Washington High School’s chapter are taking part in a variety of events. Libby Schnicker, president of the chapter, says it is a chance to get out in the community with their staff appreciation breakfast and tractor day. On Tractor Day FFA students drive their tractors to breakfast at Hyvee and then to school. Schnicker says they have a competition to see if there are more John Deere or Case IH tractors in the parking lot. She hopes to see more red than green.

She shares she hasn’t only honed agriculture skills in the program, but also leadership skills. Keep an eye out for tractors tomorrow morning in Washington and to hear the full interview with Schnicker listen to today’s Washington Page.
