The indoor practice space at Mid-Prairie, while currently at a standstill, is on pace to open on June 1st, as planned. Crews have finished installing the steel support walls for the building. Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider tells KCII News, once the project is completed the building will provide indoor practice space for baseball, softball, golf, soccer, track, football and other activities during winter months or in times of inclement weather.
Fund raising continues for the $550,000 building. In November 2014, the Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded a $200,000 grant to help with the building effort. For more from Schneider listen to Tuesday’s In Touch with Southeast Iowa.
