Following the resignation of Ainsworth Mayor Teresa Hazelett, a special March 1st election has been set. Washington County Elections Administrator Sue Meeks tells KCII News, the Ainsworth City Council appointed Councilman Troy McCarthy as interim mayor. The appointment creates an opening on the council which will be elected on March 1st.
