The homestand for the Washington Demon bowling teams continues this afternoon. The Demon boys’ and girls’ bowling teams resume competition at Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl, hosting the Keokuk Chiefs in a Southeast Conference meet. This is the second of four weekends in a row where Washington will compete at home.

The Demon boys’ bowling team (3-3 overall) was within 100 points of sweeping the season series with the Mount Pleasant Panthers (4-1 overall), falling 2,626-2,544. Three bowlers have dropped over 1,600 pins this season. Junior Colin Zear is the team leader with 1,780 pins dropped. Sophomore Tucker Renoux is second on the squad with 1,639 pins, while freshman Riley Lambert has dropped 1,635. Washington lost to Keokuk 2,710-2,581 at Arrowhead Lanes December 19.

The Washington girls’ bowling team (1-5 overall) will continue the rest of their season with four members. Most varsity bowling teams have six bowlers in their starting lineup and the first round of team scores are based on the best five results. Sophomore Anna Marie Walter is closing in on 1,300 pins dropped, recording 1,244 in the first five meets.

The conference meet between the Demons and Chiefs will commence at 2 p.m. at Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl.
