The Mid-Prairie boys basketball team narrowly missed collecting their first of the season on Tuesday night, falling on the road in Wilton 50-47.

The Beavers came out firing, starting the game on a 14-5 run that lasted the entire first quarter. Wilton extended that lead in the second quarter, holding a 29-16 advantage at the halftime break. In the second half, Mid-Prairie began to chip away. The Golden Hawks outscored Wilton 15-12 in the third quarter to pull within 41-31 going to the fourth. In the final frame the Golden Hawks made a big push, cutting Wilton’s lead down to just one possession but the Beavers were able to hold off the Mid-Prairie charge in the final minute to secure the win. With the loss the Golden Hawks are now 0-14 on the year.
