The Iowa Mennonite School girls basketball team has entered the Christmas break.

IMS enters the Holiday layoff with an overall record of 0-7, they stand at 0-6 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division. In their final pre-break contest, IMS fell to unbeaten Pekin 64-29. While Iowa Mennonite has not found their first win of the season yet, their closest call came on December 8th when they fell to New London at Hillcrest Union in Kalona 45-39.

On the season, Iowa Mennonite is led by Rachel Miller who is averaging seven points per game. Suzanna Yoder is the team leader with 15 assists. Jess Bender is a force in the post, averaging four blocked shots per game, best in the conference, and five rebounds per contest. Iowa Mennonite opens up the second half of their season Tuesday, January 5th when they host Lone Tree.
