The Highland Huskies boys basketball team saw their first action of the year Monday night at the Mid-Prairie basketball jamboree in Wellman.

Highland matched up with the class 3A Mount Pleasant Panthers. The Panthers topped the Huskies by a score of 41-21. Highland opened the game with the first seven points of the contest but the young crew from Mount Pleasant, with just one senior on the roster, rallied to take a 19-12 lead at the quarter break. The Panthers continued to pull away in the second quarter despite some hot shooting from the Huskies. Highland was led on the night by eight points from Nick Sandburg and six from Tucker Hall. The Huskies open the season December 1st when they host Cardinal.
