The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team will begin regional play tonight when they travel to Mediapolis.

On the season Mid-Prairie is 15-15. The Golden Hawks finished with a 2-6 mark in River Valley Conference play, putting them seventh in the south division standings. The last time the Golden Hawks were on the floor was in the second round of the River Valley Conference tournament on October 15th. The Golden Hawks lost the match to the West Liberty Comets in straight sets 11-21 and 13-21. In the match the Golden Hawks were led by Jaedynn Evans with eight kills, Sami Miller with five assists and Amanda Miller with eight digs. On the season Mid-Prairie is led by Jaedynn Evans with 273 kills, good for fourth in the River Valley South. Clarice Murphy leads Mid-Prairie with 322 assists, good for sixth in conference play and Emily Cayton paces Mid-Prairie with 257 digs, 10th best in conference play.

Mediapolis enters tonight’s match with a 26-10 overall record. The Bullettes were 9-0 in conference play finishing as undefeated champions of the Southeast Iowa Superconference north division. The last time MEPO was on the floor they topped Holy Trinity Catholic in straight sets. The Bullettes took the match 25-21 and 25-18. They were led by Kendra Witte with seven kills, Monica Edle had 14 assists and Brianna Eberhardt finished with 15 digs. On the season the Bullettes are led by Kara Brown with 228 kills, second best in the SEISC, Monica Edle with 619 assists, best in conference play, and Brianna Eberhardt with 170 digs.

Action tonight between the Bullettes and the Golden Hawks begins at 7PM at Mediapolis High School.
