A tree was dedicated Wednesday at the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center for recently retired trustee Karen Gorham. Gorham spoke at the event on the south side of the building near the entrance saying the tree represents students who set roots in the classrooms and grow during their time at Kirkwood, eventually their branches become a vital part of the community with their various careers paths. Gorham served as a trustee for Kirkwood Community College for 18 years.
The ceremony was held by Kirkwood and Federation Bank. Lorraine Williams replaced Gorham on the board in April and was elected to continue the post earlier this month.
