On an 80 degree day, in just 10 minutes, the temperature inside a vehicle can climb to 99 degrees. Amber Talbot, director of PAWS and More Animal Shelter, reminds people to not leave their pets in cars as they can quickly become an oven. She recommends if you see a pet in a car unattended, go in the store and ask for a manager to help you locate the owner of the vehicle. She also advises that you may call the non-emergency line for local authorities. For more summer pet care tips listen to today’s Washington Page.
