The Iowa Mennonite School baseball (2-4) and softball teams (0-7) will head to Wapello tonight to take on the Indians (2-11)and Arrows (9-4) . The IMS teams had another day of rest after the postponement of their doubleheader with Lone Tree last night.

The IMS baseball team is coming off their first wins of the season sweeping the Columbus Wildcats (0-8) Tuesday. IMS junior Tobyn Bender comes in with the team’s highest batting average at .364. Senior Kirby Shetler leads the team with the most strike outs pitched with 11.

The Wapello Indians  have struggled their last six games losing  with a combined score of 66-16. Freshman Trace Howard leads the team in hits with 12 and runs batted in with eight. Sophomore Adrian Lanz and freshman Sam Short  have 17 strikeouts each.

The IMS softball team  is looking for their first win of the season. IMS freshman Avery Blauvelt leads the team in slugging percentage at .526. Freshman Hannah Harris has started every game on the mound for the team striking out eight batters.

The Wapello Arrows (9-4) have four batters with at least ten hits coming into the game. Senior Allison Klenk comes in with the most strikeouts on the team with 68, she also leads  the Southeast Iowa Super Conference by 19 strike outs.

The softball game begins at 5:30 p.m. and the baseball game follows at 7 p.m. in Wapello.
