Two men are facing drug and firearm charges after leading officers on a pursuit in Fairfield. At around 10 a.m. Monday, Fairfield police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Ricardo Rodriguez near the intersection of 6th Street and Madison Avenue. Rodriguez stopped but then sped away after officers ordered him and his passenger, Alcides Hernandez, to exit the vehicle. The chase ended roughly seven miles away on Glasgow Road after the vehicle was stopped by members of the police department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies. No one was injured.

The men’s felony charges include conspiracy to deliver five grams or less of methamphetamine and felon in possession of a firearm. Hernandez also faces a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver five grams or less of meth. Both men posted bond and were released from the Jefferson County Jail yesterday.
