A digital orthophotography contract for $139,825 for Washington County was acknowledged yesterday by the Washington County Supervisors. The project will take aerial photos of the county. Duane Royer, GIS Coordinator, explained these are three-inch aerials, meaning each pixel will be three inches of space on the ground. Royer added the last time these were taken was five years ago and they need to be updated.

County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained multiple departments are funding the project and the anticipated cost to the county is $105,000 after photo rights are sold to the cities in the county.
