It was an up and down year for the Lone Tree Lions girls’ basketball team, as they finished with an 8-14 record. They had a six game losing streak at the beginning of the season, and at one time having a four game winning streak towards the end of the season. Their season came to an end last Thursday at Sigourney in the first round of the postseason losing 40-34 to Sigourney.

The Lions are graduating just two seniors on the team. Starter Mackeninze Reynolds is the only starter leaving the team, she averaged 3.4 points per game out of the 34.5 the team scores on average. Leading scorer for the team this season was Madison Forbes who averaged 10.3 points per game and 227 points total. The four returning starters are Derik Chandler, Elizabeth Dodson, Madison Forbes and Elena Sieurding. A strong nucleus for the Lions as they look to build off going into the 2015-16 basketball season.
