The WACO Warrior girls’ basketball team (16-7) is looking to keep their season going as they head to North English for a sectional battle versus the English Valleys Bears (17-5).

In their last game in the quarterfinals the Warriors beat Iowa Mennonite School in Keota, 35-26. In that game senior Erika Leichty finished with 15 points and six rebounds. WACO averages 43.1 points per game coming into tonight’s contest. The Warriors dominate the backboards with three different players for WACO with at least 100 rebounds this season, including Ericka Leichty (140), Gaby Wagler (124), and Aaliyah Brown (121).

The Bears beat the Sigourney Savages in the second round in North English, 58-52. English Valleys senior Rylee Voss had a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, they average 50.9 points per game. Voss is second in the South Iowa Cedar conference with 10.7 rebounds each game.
