Landlords, renters, parents, teachers, realtors, emergency service providers and others are invited to attend Wednesday’s bed bug informational meeting hosted by Washington County Environmental Health. Director Jennine Wolf states there has been a growing number of bed bug reports in Washington County. She explains the pests do not carry diseases but are expensive to exterminate. She says people can get them anywhere from theater seats to hanging their coat next to a coat that has bed bugs on it.

Wolf’s goal is to educate the public. A public meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington County Extension Office Wednesday and will discuss how people get them in their homes, how to detect the bugs and how to get rid of them.
